FAQs about cost
How much does Frida cost?
A full-length ADHD evaluation with a Frida clinician is $199.
If you are diagnosed with ADHD you will have the option to enroll in a continuous care membership. The membership cost is currently $0 (free) per month (reduced from $29 until July 1, 2022).
At the moment, continuous includes medication titration (frequent check-ins in the first few weeks/months to find the right medications that work for you), check-ins every three months, meds delivered for free, and unlimited messaging with your care team.
The cost of Frida is covered by the health spending accounts that some private insurance plans offer. However, the cost is not covered by private insurance that does not have a specific health spending account.
Do I need to enroll in continuous care?
Continuous care is currently free and covers foundational care needs for ADHD, anxiety, and depression.
Following your diagnosis, you may choose to enroll or not. If you enroll and have no use for continuous care services, you may stop at any time.
Is medication covered under Frida?
Medication (if prescribed) is not included, but private/public insurance and Frida financial assistance lower the cost of medication.
We'll work with you to find the lowest cost option.
How much do ADHD medications cost?
The cost of medications varies. We can help you lower the cost of almost all the first-line recommended treatments for ADHD in Canada, as per the Canadian ADHD Practice Guidelines.
For people with private insurance, we can usually help you access medication for $0 to $10 per month.
For people without private insurance, the cost is roughly $75 per month.
How can Frida help me save money on medication?
There are two ways we can help you save, depending on the medication your clinician has prescribed:
1. Generic medication (e.g. generic Adderall)
Frida has developed a financial assistance program to reduce the cost of some generic medications.
Every Frida patient who is prescribed generic medication for their treatment plan is able to use Frida financial assistance, regardless of their insurance status or income. There is no need to apply; you are automatically enrolled.
2. Branded medication (e.g. Vyvanse or Adderall)
Your Frida care coordinator will help you find and access co-pay assistance programs developed by pharmaceutical manufacturers that help you save.
Does Frida accept private insurance?
You will be able to claim Frida's diagnosis & treatment costs if your private insurance plan offers a health spending account.
However, the cost is not covered by private insurance plans that do not have a specific health spending account.
How does Frida's financial assistance program for generic medications work?
If a generic medication is prescribed, a Frida-affiliated pharmacist will call you to discuss how Frida's financial assistance will lower the cost for you. People with private insurance usually pay a maximum of $10 per month.
Frida has been able to create this program by working directly with the pharmaceutical industry to get them to invest in financial aid programs.
